Help with plasma burn in??!?!
I bought a 50" panasonic viera plasma in september. Today I was playing wii tennis, took a break for supper and came back about an hour later. Now the whole image is burned into the screen. It's not really obvious when you're watching it but if you go to a black screen it's pretty clear. Is there any way to fix this???
Thanks for your help, Steve P.S. Let me know if there's a better place for this, I'd appreciate some advice asap |

Re: Help with plasma burn in??!?!
There should be a "screen wash" function or something like that.
I have to hit the "menu" button on my remote to access it. not sure about your tv, must be the same. |

I don't know if it's the same but I've had burn in with my lcd computer monitor. It went away after a day or two of regular use.

Re: Help with plasma burn in??!?!
Plasmas do have a major burn problem. You're supposed to never leave a still image on them.

Re: Help with plasma burn in??!?!
I'd check the manual, most plasmas do have some sort of cleanup function.
Realize though, that they just basically "burn in" the rest of the screen. If you want to be crafty, take a snapshot of the tennis screen, inverse it in photoshop, and then let that sit on the TV for an hour. Voila! Even burn-in. |

Re: Help with plasma burn in??!?!
Find an image of a completely white screen put it on for about 15 mins and your good. But you should never leave a paused video game or DVD on the TV. Just turn the TV off if you want to take a break but leave your console on.

Re: Help with plasma burn in??!?!
When I first bought my plasma I burned a vcd that displayed the basic rainbow colors in very quick 2 sec bursts. I let this play on a loop for 48 hours to burn in my plasma. Never had a problem with the picture burning in even when my friends left their game on in one spot for a couple of hours.
