\"the strange raise\"
i call this "the strange raise" for shorthand.
there is a 2 flush but otherwise uncoordinated flop. player A bets, player B raises, player C calls, player D calls, player A reraises, player B calls, player C raises... this is a flush draw just as often as a set/top two, right? feel free to give different answers for mid-limit live games and mid/low-limit online games. |

[/ QUOTE ] The last time I encountered this, the strange-raiser had ace high with only the A of the flush draw and caused me to lay down the winner on the turn. That said, I think this is much more often 2-pair or better rather than a flush draw. EDIT: I play 30/60 - 40/80 live |

[/ QUOTE ] More often it's a made hand as the flush draw would've already 3 bet. Usually it's something they were thinking of slowplaying to the turn, then decided to wake up with it on the flop. But it could still be the flush draw. b |

Re: \"the strange raise\"
From my experience, the strange raise is a set a lot of the time. Or top 2. I rarely have seen a FD play like this...

Re: \"the strange raise\"
In my experience,if the strange raise caps the betting,it's a loose "what the hell" kind of a play that could represent a wide variety of holdings.

Re: \"the strange raise\"
Yeah I agree this tends to be a monster. When it is a draw it tends to be 12 outs+.
