kratzer,

Consider any Japanese car that is FWD (Honda/Toyota) and AWD cars (Audi, Subaru). Avoid RWD cars.

When buying consider maintenance costs.

SUBARU WRX FTW, I have an 05 and love it. Turbo charged, awd, handles like a dream, and very stylish... Easily under $25k, you can get a new one loaded for about $28k
