Also, the mention of "The Question is Moot" reminded me of another highlight from that episode, Jesse jackson reading "Green Eggs and Ham," which was brilliant.

Probably not a real popular one, but:

I remember an episode where Elle MacPherson was hosting (1997 I believe), where Tim Meadows was in a skit as a jazz musician doing a recording in a studio, and MacPherson was one of the producers.

Every time they would do a 'take', Meadows would start out playing the cut normally, and doing his own improv by occasionally saying things like, "groovy" or "all right!"

But about 30 seconds into each track, he would start to get a little nutty and say things like, "Me Chinese, me play joke, me put pee pee in your coke!"

So every time he would go overboard, they'd have to redo the take, and overall I thought it was a pretty briliant sketch. Anyone seen it?

Yeah this is pretty funny. He throws in a "Where's the Beef?" and a "He who smelt it dealt it!" as well. Of course, the resulting album is Pac-Man Fever.

OK... my favorites that haven't been mentioned:

Commercial: Bad Idea Jeans ("Normally I wear protection, but then I thought, "When am I gonna make it back to Haiti?")
Grayson-Moorhead Securities ("If my wife calls while I'm in shagging my secretary, tell her I'm at a board meeting. That way I'll be able to continue shagging my secretary without my wife knowing about it.")

Canteen Boy is a great sketch because it's so creepy and disturbing. Other great insane sketches I'm fond of include "Wake up and Smile" (Today Show-type show teleprompter breaks) and "Jimmy Tango's Fat Busters" (Jim Carrey infomercial peddling crystal meth).

I love Neil Diamond, Robert Goulet (obv.), et al.
Any votes for the old "Sincere Guy Stu" sketch with Joe Montana ("I'm going upstairs to masturbate")?

It's hard for me to say which of the old sketches I love the best because I either a)haven't seen them or b)have seen them so often they don't have the same impact they used to.

Also, Norm MacDonald was the best Weekend Update anchor ever.

Joe Montana skit when you hear the actor’s thoughts. Phil Hartman is trying to get it on with Jan Hooks (sp). Joe Montana plays Stu:

Stu: Hey, it's fine with me if you stay in the living room. It won't bother me at all.

Stu's Thoughts: It's fine with me if she stays in the living room. It doesn't bother me at all.

Dan: Thanks a lot, Stu.

Dan's Thoughts: Yeah, thanks a lot, jerk!

Leslie: You know, you are so sweet.

Leslie's Thoughts: Boy, is this guy lame!

Dan: Well, listen, Stu, I think Leslie and I are gonna stay up a while and talk, so I guess we'll.. uh.. see you tomorrow.

Stu: Great! See you tomorrow!

Stu's Thoughts: Great! I'll see them tomorrow!

[ Stu heads upstairs ]

Leslie: Uh.. listen, we'll talk quietly, so as not to disturb you, okay?

Stu: Oh, you won't disturb me. I'll be in my room masturbating.

Stu's Thoughts: They won't disturb me. I'll be masturbating.
