While I disagree with Rduke55 in that SMP is the perfect place to debate the morality of cop killing, I decided to post this here since the frequenters in politics will probably have more to say.

What are your thoughts on cop killing in the context of things like raids on houses where the crime is a no-victim crime like growing or trafficking marijuana? How about when you know you're innocent but are afraid the cop will kill you because he thinks he's endangered? What's the minimum threshold for killing a police officer? For the purposes of this thread, let's assume an honest or non-corrupt officer (let's not hijack this by claiming all officer's are by definition corrupt and jackbooted).

I guess cop killing is philosophical but we had already hijacked the thread somewhat and I didn't want to hijack it again.

And for the record, my insult that Boro references all the time is blown out of proportion. It was pretty mild, especially for these boards, me implying that he thinks like an angry 16 year old. I apologized for saying this a few posts later and then in the cop killing thread I said I couldn't believe that I apologized for saying that. That was the extent of it.

No, that's stupid. If you don't like the law he is enforcing, change the law. If you feel you aren't being represented, start a revolution. But killing one cop doesn't change the system, it just creates a victim out of someone trying to uphold the law.

This is why our court system allows for trial by jury. I.E. a bunch of other folks who may have their houses intruded on by jackbooted cops in the middle of the night.
