look at it this way if you know someone is raising light its okay to reraise them light sometimes youre a slight dog sometimes theyre a slight dog any disparity in equity is usually made up by the money in the blinds the likelier the blinds are to fold the likelier he is to raise light and the more incentive you have to reraise him light plus you have position which is also worth something |

[ QUOTE ]
I just think its too tight and leaves money on the table. In particular with 3-betting situations. Other books covering this topic and other coaching vids seem to 3-bet looser than Stox [/ QUOTE ] this is very interesting stuff, i should probably reexamine my 3-betting ranges. i guess i'll try to come up with some way to test the profitability of light reraises. have you ever tried to look at the bottom end of your reraising range to see if you are making money on it? i know it's pretty hard to do since pt doesn't have that capability but maybe you found some other way? |

[ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] btw, what do you think is a good capping range in this situation. i think i've been a nit since the range i gave is pretty much my capping range. [/ QUOTE ] Villain is Co and yourface OTB right? Well yourface is 3-balling me with a [censored]. So something a LOT wider than what you mentioned. 66'ish KJs, KQo, A9s, AJo, QJs, JTs, T9s should all enter with positive prob IMO [/ QUOTE ] Oink, you're play is tilting me and we have never played. [/ QUOTE ] You don't think the button should 3bet a tag's CO open raise liberally? Well, why the [censored] not? |

why the [censored] not? [/ QUOTE ] I'm not going to get too out of line vs this guy b/c he is v good but he has a very wide raising range which I feel I can take advantage of with position and a stronger 3bet range edit: my quoting means I agree that we should be 3betting a wide range |

After your flop raise on rainbow board it is very clear you have a good pair. like i said i always call down here with good pairs and almost everybody else does to. The pot is getting big and we are all afraid of getting owned. If he had t9s or even kq i would like this better. |

Re: donked on very scary turn by one of the best
Those were my thoughts too at first, and while they're true, look at the ammount of questioning we've put into this hand... It seems like at least 25% of people make this laydown at some point in the hand, which innately makes this play +EV just based on the pot size, in addition to getting all of your made hands paid off in the future.
It still is not a play I make regularly, but in a pot this size, I think it's worth fighting over when you're up against only 1 opponent. |
