You're welcome.

Good luck in Law School. A lawyer I know, who I think was trying to recruit me, because she told me all the time how good of a lawyer I would make, said that law school would be the most fun I ever had. I hope you have that experience. Please keep us updated.

She was definitely lying to you, kudos on sniffing her out.

Holy [censored]. That's half of all the hours in a month. Lemme guess: New York?

[/ QUOTE ]

Its not that big a deal when you bill for your time in the shower getting ready for work and your time when youre thinking on the crapper.

You see, I could half way buy that billing if the attorney was using their mental faculties to think about the case....
However, I don't trust an attorney enough to think that they aren't just flat out lying.

It's safe to say that she knows me much better than you. It's also safe to say that she knows more good attorneys than you do.

No, not lying about you being a good attorney. The "most fun you ever had" part. Put down the gun.

I hear you have to put in thousands of hours a month after you get out to be successful....

Thousand of hours in a month? There are only 720-740!

And to be successful, you dont have to be able to lawyer your way out of paper bag if you can bring in a client that bills $4 million a year, entertain them, and let the other guys do the work!

I'm getting a couple degrees, almost done with law but no intention to pursue it. Some people like it, but the vast majority can't graduate fast enough. It's three glorified years, where just one, maybe two, would serve the purpose. It feels like a huge waste of time and money past the first year.

And Copernicus is right. Everyone has to put in the time, but it's the guys who fill up the book that advance. It's rare that just being a grinder gets you anywhere.
