100NL - Facing a check-raise on a low, coordinated flop
100NL. Villain is about 19/11/1.25 over about 140.
I think I've been making some huge blunders in spots like this. Hand History Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com (Format: 2+2 Forums) Hero ($100.90) SB ($46.05) BB ($97.45) UTG ($77.45) Preflop: Hero is Button with K[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], K[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]. 1 fold, Hero raises to $3, SB calls $2.50, BB calls $2. Flop: ($9) 2[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], 3[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], 5[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (3 players) SB checks, BB checks, Hero bets $8, SB folds, BB raises to $24 |

Re: 100NL - Facing a check-raise on a low, coordinated flop
its hard to give shortstackers credit for any real thought process...the only thing i would say is that when they are at the weaker end of there range they usually just push or check push (that being said he may have a little too many chips to do that). he also may not give you to much credit with a button raise and that flop. so in general i think you have his range crushed and im always getting it in here. think of all the hands u have beat/crushed. 66-qq a5,a3,4x, flush draw...and so on.

I appreciate your reply. However, I think you may have misread the hand. Villain and Hero are both about 100BB deep.

Re: 100NL - Facing a check-raise on a low, coordinated flop
haha yeah im sorry im an idiot i did misread it. but still i get it all in, maybe not on the flop, but when the turn card is safe, because if you get it in on the flop your probably dominated or 50-50 if a safe card comes then we are likely to have alot better equity then on the flop.

Re: 100NL - Facing a check-raise on a low, coordinated flop
ps..but your right its a tricky spot to be in. plus a added thought - if the villian has a smaller underpair he is more likely to get it in with a smooth call and a push on a blank then he is with a push on his check raise (he has to put you on a huge hand then). and u also give him a chance to bluff or semi bluff with only one to come.

Re: 100NL - Facing a check-raise on a low, coordinated flop
call and look for safe turn card.. a LOT of the time he has an under pair (to you) here.. he is most likely not c/r with a set and you can feel comfortable giving a free card to a mid pair

Re: 100NL - Facing a check-raise on a low, coordinated flop
I disagree with every poster thus far. Half the deck is a scare card (any A, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 or diamond) and seeing as we have the Kd, I'm getting it all in here, on the flop.
Calling praying 1/2 the deck misses you is pretty bad imo. |

Re: 100NL - Facing a check-raise on a low, coordinated flop
Any 2 or 3 is a safe card imo. Unlikely to hit villains range (pf call, c/r flop) and decreases the chance of a flopped set.
But this still leaves us behind with a ton of scare cards, so want to get it AI right now. |
