i don't really want to speculate on what legal services would be like in AC-land, but i think this is a good example of one of those ways the poor are likely to get the short end of the stick in any society, market-driven or not. would be interesting to hear from some european or canadian posters about legal systems in more socialized nations. my guess is that good legal representation is and always will be something that is primarily available to the wealthy.
before there was the bar, there were far more informal systems of bribery and other barriers to the poor getting a fair shake. |

"Met" as in the same way that a Kia, as compared to a Cadillac, meets one's need for an automobile. I believe that was the original premise.
