phil, i wasn't aware of any of the back story, so i didn't know that ace had been out of line in the past. that said, i can't pass judgment, as i haven't seen what's been going on in the software forum or wherever. if what you say is correct and it's gone beyond respectful competition than i apologize for saying your comments were classless.

if you can understand my perspective, it appeared to the uninformed that you both simply offered to help and it all seemed fairly harmless. without him being out of line in this thread, maybe it was still too quick of you to jump on him. anyway, i'm sure you're both good guys and softwars are clouding things a bit.

That back story is really a misinterpretation of what I said.

The gist of what I said that he's probably referring to is this. In the thread where I announced PT3, some troll came by and said that HM was going to make PT obsolete. I came back and said that there were some problems with HM (this was before the first beta release of HM) that lead not only myself but others experienced in the market to believe it wouldn't kill PokerTracker. My statement was interpreted as being an insult to the developer of HM. I quickly responded that the problems I was referring to were not technical problems and that I wasn't implying that the HM developer was not a competent software developer.

I don't want people to think I've been bashing the competition because I haven't. That one statement was misinterpreted and it looks like my attempt to clarify the meaning of the statement was not read by some or was forgotten.
