200nl: I LOVE AXs.
Villain is new to table but seems like a donkey.
Full Tilt Poker, $1/$2 NL Hold'em Cash Game, 9 Players LeggoPoker Hand History Converter Hero (CO): $219.95 BTN: $200 SB: $173.20 BB: $215.20 UTG: $202.20 UTG+1: $371.75 UTG+2: $260.20 MP1: $205.10 MP2: $332.85 Pre-Flop: A[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] 9[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] dealt to Hero (CO) 3 folds, MP1 calls $2, MP2 folds, Hero raises to $9, 3 folds, MP1 calls $7 Flop: ($21) 2[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] 4[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 9[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (2 Players) MP1 bets $13, Hero calls $13 Turn: ($47) 3[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (2 Players) MP1 checks, Hero checks River: ($47) 3[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (2 Players) MP1 checks, Hero bets $28 On turn I think a small pr is his most likely holding (prob 55-88 but MAYBE 22-44). Given this read better to bet/fold then or check and call a reasonable rvr bet? As played rvr bet seems obvious - but how much? |

lolz
soo...i miss value by not betting the turn because: - i am going to get value on the turn and rvr out of a worse hand? and/or - he may call a turn bet that he wouldn't call on rvr? |

bet the turn you miss so much value And raise the flop stop being a coward [/ QUOTE ] why raise flop here? villains range consist of mainly hands that we crush, hands that we crush, and hands that are crushing us. I think it was all played ok including your bet size. I think bet turn though.... The times he gets tricky nuff to cr you isnt enough to make up for when he rivers something (pot equity youre giving him for free)+your inevitable call on the river. giving him chance to bluff the river is a nice idea but on this board isnt likely..... Your idea of seting up a bet is ok but i think that the % of the time you get that 25$ bet isnt gonna make up for the value of a turn bet. but hey this is just a boner talking. O btw I do think that this turn should be chked a certain % of the time against a competent player but not against this dude. |

I LOVE AXs. [/ QUOTE ] Me too. I think we play similarly. Also I play this hand the same. River bet size is good too. If there was a flush draw on the flop, you could bet more on the river to rep a busted flush. |

Re: 200nl: I LOVE AXs.
if you raise the flop with AKx (i don't know u but i raise it quite often) then u should be raising this flop with A9. As played bet turn and river if he called the turn bet.

why raise flop here? villains range consist of mainly hands that we crush, hands that we crush, and hands that are crushing us. [/ QUOTE ] I agree but, after being bet into on the flop, I don't like betting the turn for that reason. It's unlikely Villain is on a draw, so why give him a chance to c/r us out of the hand? It's likely we're either going to get a showdown for the price of a reasonable bet on the river (if Villain is beating us with a set or weird two pair) or we can bet for value if it's it checked to us again (a possible donkey will definitely be betting a strong hand on the river, although I suppose it's possible that a strong player might go for another c/r). I think I would have played this hand almost exactly the same (now I've finally moved away from 'total nit' status and opened up my late position raising range), including the bet sizes. |
