hey i'm not sure if this is the right place to ask about this, but i am wondering if anyone knows of a reliable online IQ test. i've never taken a real one and have taken some random ones online though i don't know how credible those are. yeah i know there is the whole question about any IQ test being reliable, but im not really asking about that

There are no legitimate IQ tests online as far as I know.

I'd suggest the the Mensa Workout if you are just looking for something to do.

yeah, i've gotten a range of scores on the various online ones, they weren't so far apart that i think they were explicitly lying but still a decent distance apart. i actually kinda wanna take a mensa test, which is why i wanna see if its worth the time to see if im in the range

Online IQ tests are [censored]. Mensa does have a practice test, and most online IQ tests should be sufficient to determine whether you're a possible candidate for Mensa. If you score 130 or more regularly, you probably have a reasonable chance of making it. If you consistently score below 120, you're probably hopeless. But don't use online tests as anything more than a guideline - please don't go bragging about your 150 IQ because of some online test.

By the way, you seem to misunderstand the application process for Mensa. Check the faq, especially the question "is there a Mensa test?"

I got 27, but I wasn't keeping strict time since I was doing other stuff too. So my score doesn't necessarily mean anything. I think tests like these are pretty generic and pointless anyways though. Most of the questions are simple and are just a test of not making a meaningless mental error, and then the difference between a great score and a decent score will come down to a couple odd questions and whether or not the secret word will pop into your head in time.

I'm just bitter cause each question I got wrong was a stupid word question. I couldn't come up with 'post' or 'day' before calling it quits (which is fine, since they're common words), but #19 seems like a pointless question for this type of test. I've never even heard the word "banalities" before so what could it possibly indicate of my intelligence if I can't find it. I didn't know this was a vocabulary contest.
