Default bolded search term retardedness

I can understand the utility of bolding a search term in a result, but most of the time I just find it annoying. this is especially true when someone else posts a link to a thread. I don't care what search terms they used to find it!

it's particularly annoying that when multiple search terms are used, each is bolded independently. for example, I wanted to see what threads Tony P had posted in recently, so I clicked on his name, went to a thread, and got this garbage:

and no, retardedness is not a word.

I have an easy solution to your problem, but I feel it's a little too early to share it.

Sorry.

EDIT: Btw, if you think that was annoying, try this.

I know how to break out of retard thread-mode, but the point is I shouldn't have to

i click "threaded" then back to "flat" and that fixes it.

I'm sure there is an easier way though.

definitely annoying although sometimes interesting to see what word sticks out in people's memory when thinking about a past post.

for example, people might search for "retardedness" when looking for this thread, but some people would use "garbage" which is weird.

Lately I have been cutting down all my links to something like this:

http://forumserver.twoplustwo.com/sh...Number=8994949

Just the number after the php thing. Makes it shorter, and nothing else seems to be necessary. But then again, I don't really know what I'm doing, so there may be consequences. ZeTurd?

Yeah, that's kind of what I was going for. I only cut out the querystrings for highlighting though.

In OP's link that would be the following part:

&Words=+Tony+P
