ok I personally have a pfr of 16 and my opening range UTG 5 handed is very wide, I dont think preflop is really an issue.

[/ QUOTE ]

I dont think you would ever raise it to $31 with AA

Question is if "like always" is more than 80%. It's hard to estimate this by experience because you could easily be behind 75% and still lose five in a row and your interpretation will be "omg I'm never ahead here". Still I dump this. You only beat a bluff or retardly played QQ/JJ.

You know, when someone says they're getting 3:1, I don't even know what that means.

OK in case you really don't know, 16 pfr is the percentage of hands they raise preflop.

Also, the raise to $31 is completely standard -- you should be doing this with AA and other premiums, as well as your squeezes. We want to play both in the same way so as to disguise our hands, and also want to raise enough so we're not automatically giving the odds to our opponents to set mine.

Let's say I raise $8 pre and you have AA -- are you going to raise to a proper amount, about $26, or are you going to minreraise to $16 worried that I might otherwise fold? If you answered the latter, I'm correctly snap-calling every time. Fundamental theory of poker or whatever -- we make money when our opponents make mistakes -- raising smaller amounts makes it easier for our opponents to play correctly.

Yea, really. $31 appears to be a standard 3bet amount in this spot. I just dont like it with hands that are easily dominated, but I guess depending on the raiser it's pretty standard.
