USC should not be in the top 10 or even the top 20.

strong case for having Ohio State at #2. they are playing lights out defense the only other team that is step for step with them is LSU.

OSU just needs to work a few kinks out their offense

OSU vs LSU

Cal vs LSU

Cal vs OSU

any chance of USC working there way back in here by crushing Cal and others plus a couple of key losses by LSU and OSU?

They beat Auburn 26-23...the same Auburn team that beat #9 (coming into the joke of a game they played against LSU tonight) Florida.

[/ QUOTE ]

What does this mean?

Things that shock me:
Florida, while losing, pretty much outplayed the #1 team in the country (if not, certainly on the same level). West Virginia, while having good athletes, kind of sucks. I am surprised people are ranking WVU over UF.

I'm also really surprised that anyone thinks the top 3 is anything other than LSU/Cal/tOSU (in that order).

Beyond that, some of you have fun rankings that I like to see.

Florida played a great game against LSU and if that was their first loss of the season, I'd definitely have them in the Top 5, probably #4 behind OSU and Cal. However, they also lost at home to Auburn and you can't really just let that slide. That's a bad loss and it's enough that they don't belong in the Top Ten. West Virginia's only loss was on the road to an undefeated team that had already beaten Auburn so I give them the benefit of the doubt for now.

It varies from week to week, but it should be some time in the next 2 or 3 hours.

Don't understand this comment.

LSU won the TOP 35:52 to 24:08--that isn't close and they also had more total yards in this game. If you remember LSU's kicker missed two very makable FG's, if he didn't suck last night this game is a 10 point victory 34-24 and the end of the game isn't as nail-biting as it was.

Florida played great but let's not get carried away by saying they outplayed anyone. LSU played better and they won.

Ohio State gets no respect it seems. Anyone who has seen their defense play should rank them ahead of Cal.

Purdue was undefeated with one of the best offenses int he country, and they were completely stuffed by OSU.

I'm really hoping for an LSU/OSU title game as it will be one of the best defensive games in recent memory.

LSU won because they converted 5 fourth downs and because they won the turnover battle. Florida had more yards per rush and more yards per pass. "Outplayed" might be a little strong, but they definitely gave a very good showing in the Bayou, and it's enough that you'd almost expect them to win a rematch at a neutral site after their young team has another 2 months to gel. If I were an LSU fan, I'd be rooting hard for South Carolina when they play the Gators.
