Default LOL live poker

Ok, so i'm going to take my first trip to a real casino tomorrow, going to the Foxwoods

i've played my fair share of live poker, but i was originally going to go to vegas this summer but i didn't so i look at this as making it up.. and also meet up my online 2p2 buddies

but as far as poker goes, what adjustments do you guys make?

i'm a confident online winner and my track record shows that i'm expected to not lose money at NL200 on this trip, but i would like to maximize my win and not do anything stupid

from my experience, live play has a lot less FE than usual, so i'm not going to be leveling anyone unless i know he is capable of folding,

also i'm not going to iso raise as much with hands like 97s from LP when there are weak limpers, instead i'm gonna limp, because i feel they are willing to play a big pot with marginal hands anyways so i don't have to worry about not getting action (which takes away enough to play limped pots IP IMO)

I am also going to be bluffing a lot less and a lot less c-bets, because people <3 2PNK,

those are the adjustments on the top of my head, anything else anyone would like to contribute is much appreciated

Just pay attention, I'd say. Follow every single hand, because there isn't much else to do; then you can adjust obviously. Oh, and try not to kill yourself.

You've got it right:

Don't bluff

Make a good hand and value bet the hell out of it

People will call off their whole stack with a draw or TPGK, so don't be shy about making big bets with monsters

Low level NL games don't seem to have a lot of raising postflop, so don't try to bet-3bet. Also, people don't cbet as much as online. They'll call big bets with all sorts of garbage, but won't make big bets themselves without the goods. So if you want the money to go in, then make a big bet yourself and expect to be called.

Value betting is your friend. Bluffing the wrong villain (which is most of them) will get you in trouble. Most live players are incapable of bluff check raising.

Just don't try any elaborate moves. Also, i've noticed being very social helps your image, if you're nice to people they like playing pots with you. But if you just sit there and play TAG (which you should) you could go hours with only playing 2 hands, and even to the least observant player, they won't give you any action. If you seem like you're active and not just a rock sitting there set mining, they'll be more inclined to play.

Thanks guys, solid advice so far

also am i safe in limping SCs from EP since no one ever raises in general? it depends on the table obv, but in general

also what are some adjustments i should make for FR knowing that i'm now slightly smart LAG in 6 max these days

i know how to play really LAGGy well and really nitty well, i assume i'm going to have to be even NITTIER than 19/14?

Depends on the table as you said. If it's a table where there's very rarely raises obviously you're ok to limp lots of hands from early position if you think you can play them for a profit post-flop (and usually you will be able to).

OH i forgot,

LIVE TELLS

which is what makes it so different than online because of the added information given,(the boring 30 hands/hr and the worse play aside)

i don't feel like i give anything away usually when i play live, but when i'm bluff raising sometimes i feel like i'm nervous, but i'm pretty sure it doesn't show that much

for tells i'm going to read mike caro's book of tells again before i land on the plane,

since i won't be bluffing too much, i will most like act quiet and not move when i'm value betting, and occasionally throw in the "forced swallow" to make it seem i'm nervous to push the marginal hands to call,

would you guys brush me up on the tells please, i'm not too experienced at that other than the classic obvious ones like reaching for chips before i bet means he doesn't want me to bet, weak means strong strong means weak, etc

Like Nielso said, just pay attention really. None of these rules or guidelines are really steadfast. I've been at tables where I raised preflop and c-bet 90% of the time and won the pot almost every single time. I've been at tables where everyone was raising and re-raising preflop. I've seen tables where everyone folds to the smallest raise preflop.

I remember one time I had played 2 hands in about 2 hours, and wasn't all that talkative. Guy remarks to me that I'm a rock, half the table agrees. Next hand there are 2 limpers, I get KK and raise, two players behind me call and the 2 limpers called. I was playing in a similar fashion at another casino on a different occasion and someone went all-in over the top of my AK with 22.

Just know what type of table you're at and the opponents and play accordingly. The bigger adjustment to me playing live is knowing the rules and ettiquette, playing fast and what not. If you haven't already you may want to check out the B&M Card Room Newbie guide in the B&M forum.

Where are you from, OP?

Also, don't smoke cigarettes or chew dip at the tables.
