Few questions ?
Can I just go to the range to shoot with no permit or anything?
Do I bring my own ammo?
Do I bring my own gun?
if not can I choose my gun?

Just kind of curious and want the experience but I have zero knowledge besides shooting a bb gun.

[/ QUOTE ]
Not sure how much it varies state to state but in Va you could walk right in rent a gun and start firing. I would recommend you go with a friend who is knowledgeable or take a class 1st though. Bringing your own ammo varies from range to range some make you buy theirs but if they don't I would def bring your own to save some money.

The most fun gun I've fired is a 44 Redhawk magnum. KABOOOOOOOOOOOMMMMMMMMMM!!!!!!!!!!!! It was louder than the shottie next to us.

[/ QUOTE ]
My dad uses a Super Redhawk to hunt deer, it is a blast to shoot but the noise and recoil get old pretty quick.

[/ QUOTE ]

You don't know what loud is until you've fired a desert eagle .50 action express.

It hurts your hand when you shoot it.

Other people in the range (with earmuffs on) will think you set off a bomb.

A 12 gauge has nothing on a .50

Neither does a 44 magnum. It really isn't even close.

i am just on the other side of the bay...there are tons along US19...my good friend (gun nut) likes a place just north of tampa off of 1-75 where you can shoot outside and pretty much whatever you bring.

see the hostage standoff in the gun range in tampa? one of the guys practicing his shot accurate there was a felon. They just ask for your name and address on a sheet of paper, no background checks
