I don't know if you're being sarcastic or not, but I think you are. Obviously you can have 79 or any set and tons of FDs, but after you JUST CALL the flop I don't think you ever have better than AA on a drawy board facing a donk bet without closing the action.

You seem to be talking about this top of your range thing like there is some theory behind it? Have you read something somewhere? Please share if so.

There's stuff about it in MSNL. Its common advice in a decent amount of threads and I have read some more general stuff about it there, but I suck at search. Just stopping to think about it though makes a lot of sense. If you are folding the best hand that you ever hold in that spot then whats to stop the villian from just bluffing you there everytime? Nothing at all so you become way too easy to play against and exploit if you are folding the top of your range in any situation. If you fold the top of your range then you probably should have played it differently earlier in the hand.
