Default A2 auto raise?

Hi, just wondering how many people auto raise when they get A2? Say you have A2 but the other 2 cards were junk like 6,9 unsuited would you raise with these cards? Also position i guess would play a large part. UTG i wouldn't raise these but if it was checked around to me in late position I would raise A,2,6,9 unsuited is this a good play?

Naked A2 is almost as dangerous as AA89.

Well, since you have to ask these questions, it's clear that you don't "auto-raise" with them.

Seriously, raising with A2XX depends on a lot of things like position, passivity of the game, action in front of you, etc. There aren't very many "auto-raise" situations in Omaha that I can think of.

Depending on how saucy I'm feeling I'll raise any A2 from anywhere...But I try to only raise crappy ones from the hijack or later when the pot has not been opened...This is for PLO8...

I'd actually probably do the same thing for LO8, maybe even tightening up to the cutoff or later in unopened pots...

Post 5 recent hands where you had A2 and we will tell you what to do and why. Without examples nothing can be done.

i raise pot if the game isnt a limp fest and i have good position. i am looking to play a raised pot in position, and if there are a series of limpers infront of you there is no point in raising since your hand is not a monster and the pot is already bloated from all the limps. also if i get a decent a2xx with moderate xx cards and bad position i like the miniraise. decent cards OOP i like to miniraise.

In pot limit I raise only a minority of my A2xx hands (stuff like A2wx suited or A2 with a high pocket pair). A2 without backup and without a decent high component doesn't seem worth raising to me, unless you're doing it with the intent of increasing your ability to bully opponents later. Maybe 6-handed where you're less likely to face another A2xx hand it would make more sense though.

From a different angle: Without checking my PTO stats to prove it, well over 50% of my preflop raises are non-A2 hands than they are A2 hands. As you can see though, there is a lot of spread between what some people do preflop with A2 and what others do. That points to the importance of mixing up your game. Sometimes if you're not sure what to do, try some new methods at lower stakes than you normally play, to see what works best for you.
