Raise or fold on 3rd. If you raise & get reraised, you gotta fold for obvious reasons.

Hello,

you should have raised from the get go... If re-raised by the Ace... you can most likely safely fold.

By not raising off the bat.... you made this hand much more difficult to play. Do you see why?

Regards,

CJ

As others said raise third and fold if its raised behind you. Limping is the worst of your three options because you want to take this hand down now or play it HU.

How much does the fact that our kings are dead and one of our tens is out impact the choice here?

It shouldn't impact it at all....

The only way it would impact is whether or not you choose to play the hand at all (and there are several instances in a live game where you would FOLD this hand)

just calling in this instance is close to a sin.. it really is...

Regards,

CJ

Well, I tend to raise with Kings in almost any circumstance, but a dead hand doesn't want a whole lot of action. I would be raising with the idea of discouraging action.

You know I wanted to say this, but so many have already said it, anyway-Raise. You're not looking at Kings having to make trips so don't worry about being dead. Raise and if the Aces plays back at you (if, he may have just folded if trying to steal). Normally if kings vs Ace I'll play to fifth to see if I improve but since your Kings are dead I would have decided by pot odds to at least try to get a second pair by fifth and hope he doesn't improve. Head up I would have ended the nightmare losing just one bet, but knowing I made the right move.

Raising is more than just getting value for the pot, or getting someone to fold, it's also a great way to get info.

It might not sound clear I am implying to raise when action first got to you, raise the bring in. If Aces raises back I would call if two other players were involved or more for the odds.

Now in the situation of calling that you did and then being raised. I would have just flat called because you had a multi-way pot to see if I improved to two pair by fifth, and got the lead. You also have a straight draw that could develop to four parts by fifth Q J still live and only one dead 9. But the crucial mistake was not raising the bring in, so you can't accurately just the power of the Aces.
