PC wont play mpeg files

well my PC wont play mpeg files anymore, as well as most AVI's. scanned for viruses with 2 scanners, found nothing, reinstalled windows media player, tried 3 other media players. tried codec packs and reinstalling all my codecs. wmv's still play fine. anything else left to try? thanks

what codec packs did you try?

I'd recommend klite. try using media player classic that comes with it and seeing if it works

sir you are my hero, i had klite before but when and downloaded the new version w/ MPC, and it all works fine now, thanks much
