Bad
Raise to .50 pre flop or fold, those are your two choices.
Then if you get any callers, on that flop you should be value cbetting

Actually you should really just have folded it pre

OK, thanks. That makes sense.

I played limit up to 3/6 on Party Poker before they went kaput for Americans and did okay. Since then I switched to NL on FT but don't play much. I'm still trying to learn.

When you have a hand like AJ utg +1 you need to raise or fold a good amount of the time. Theres 6 people left to act after and you need to get better information if your going to play. Any range between 3-5xbb is fine here.

Don't EVER limp with AJ. Either raise or fold. I tend to fold AJo UTG/UTG+1.

i switched from limit to nl and the toughest part of it was learning AJo type of hands ie;KQo and the like are not good hands in nl to mess with in the early positions. if you do decide to gamb00l with'em, raise'em up and play'em fast with a decent cbet and be willing to let'em go if need be.

When utg calls, you have to have a very strong hand. you don't, so don't!

Success in all forms of poker rely on playing in position. Big bet poker is even more dependent on playing in position. Most players find their best win rates when the limit or eliminate the number of weak hands they play out of position.

In this case, AJo is a weak hand. You have the second worst non-blind position at the table. You should fold here almost always.

Now that you are involved in the pot, weakish top pair hands should be played with caution. Once you get caught between the UTG player and the button, you should be really leery about putting much money in the pot.

Oh! The mighty AJ. Hate that hand.
The previous posters are absolutely right - raise or fold. If you limp, you want to flop real hand - starting with top two. This board is very bad for you and, if they are not complete drunkards in friday, I guess this is def. fold on the river. As played - check on the turn is good.
