Default Knee Problems

There is something seriously wrong with my knees. This Sunday, I played football for about an hour with a group of friends. It was the first time I ran hard for a few feeks so I was expecting to be sore afterwards. I experienced pain in my knee during the game but nothing I couldnt deal with.

Anyway, shortly after the game I could hardly walk. Putting any pressure on the ball of my feet would cause SEVERE pain at the top of my shinbone. I literally could not walk for the next 48 hours. If I tried to walk without supporting myself somehow my legs would just give out.

Has anybody experienced anything like this before?

How old are you?

(The remainder of this post is all about me.)

My knees started to crumble when I was 35. They told me, "Arthritis, nothing can be done, take a lot of Advil."

It got worse and worse. By the time I was 38, I was using a cane (and growing from "Really Fat" to "Tremendously Fat", because walking hurt too much).

In the last few weeks, it just became unbearable, so I went back to the doctor to ask about knee replacement. Different insurance this time around, so I had to go to a different doctor.

I got lucky this time, and drew a competent doctor. He introduced me to the wonders of the cortisone shot, and I haven't needed the cane since. I took a walk around the block the other night for the first time in years. Life is good again.
