I think I pay him off here... I would expect a set to put in at least a small raise on the flop here to see where they stand. I wouldn't be surprised to see villain flip up something along the lines of KJQx, where they have the busted str8 draw and a pair throughout.

there isn't much in the way of missed draws given you have an A a K and a J in your hand. If I was playing, I would pay him off in this spot, but when I get to give advice from outside the game, I think I can tell you to fold.

i think there are a few lines one can take with hero's hand. i dont like it but a river call is a must considering the way villan played his hand. the only logical hand i see here beating hero is q 8 or T 8.

i'm going to say something that i know people wont agree with but thats fine. i check the turn and fold to a turn bet. the pot is small and this hand isnt very motivating to me. if i check call and hit on river, do i get rewarded? villan might have same draw as me. idk, this hand and situation being out of position doesnt seem very rewarding.

flame away if you like but i dont come from the school of never giving up on a hand like i see alot of others do. i'll give up a few finger tips to save the arm and nail someone in better spots and keep my game in control.

i only say this referring to another possible option to the hand. i have no problem with someone who wants to fire away with this hand and they are probably more right about it than my secondary option. i just hate to get too involved in hands that end up forcing me to pay off to q 8 or T 8 or pocket jacks........and i seen these ugly scenarios many times. true, you could also be getting paid off on the river by a busted draw too but whatever........i get nitty sometimes i guess.

sorry, not trying to talk about myself, just merely giving another option to the play of this hand. right or wrong, we all learn from everyone. i like to keep an open mind.

I think if he Heros beat he will shown here more often a boat than a straight.
Hero must win the showdown in only 27% and with villain calling down on flop and turn and after Hero checks the river betting out, I think Hero wins the showdown more frequently than the 27%.

i foldet the river because i tought the only hand he can call 2times is a set, maybe 2pair also but why shoud he bet 2pair on the river instead of just checking behind. his river really looks to me like a value bet

i check the turn and try to get a free card, my equity in the hand at that point has gone down a lot against any made hand and the turn shouldn't help the opponent's hand at all, and he won't give you credit for it helping you, so if he called the flop he's likely calling the turn leading me to have a tough river decision in a pot that is larger than i'd like it to be. dunno if this is "right", but i lean toward pot control on that turn against an unknown on that board.
