Default $50NL TPTK standard?

Villain 18/15/3 over 85 hands

Line check on this hand.
Did I go a bit OTT with just a 1-pair hand?

I probably just call down his bets once you get to the turn. Its a fairly blank card. Im not sure how many flush draws he can have going to the turn here, making KJ of clubs but his stats indicate he is tighter than that.

uhh. this sucks. bvb, i guess stacking here is okay. 3bet would've made it a lot easier to play.

I would normally 3bet preflop.
Flop, looks good as played. His call is somewhat scary because he is TAG.
Turn, I'm shutting down once he bets out. He's acting like the 5 helped him, perhaps he has an overpair and puts you on QT? I just call.

Is it better just to pop back PF?

I think your flop play was pretty good - it was a perfect pot size raise. That should get most of his trash hands in the muck. the fact that he called means he has something. The 5[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] shoudl be good for you, because you beat smaller two pairs, and it doesn't seem likely he has a 5. He comes back firing here, which could mean he picked up another draw like a flush draw and straight draw or perhaps he has something like QJ or KQ.

I think a Set would have either got his chips in the middle on the flop, or go for a turn CR, not lead right into you.

I think the shove is ok.

Call his bet turn and look for a cheap showdown. I agree you went overboard with a 1 pair hand.

When you say 3-Bet I immediately think limit play - is there a "standard" re-raise here, is it really just three BBs, or would it be larger hoping to end the hand right there?

When 3betting the amount should be about 3.5x the initial raise.

My line: 3-bet to 7$ pf, if called c-bet 3/4 pot. if called on flop I think i would check and call a resonable bet on the river. u have position, use it!

As played: reraise on flop is fine. the cold scares me, I think he has QT,QQ and TT her alot, I think the underbet on the turn is trying to get paid w/ boat, or afraid off overpair. w/o any reads I would call turn, and evaluate on river. The c/r ai wont get called by hands u beat. His stats are solid even with small sample.

A 3-bet usually entails me pressing the 'bet-pot' button, so that's why I just use the term.
In this case that would be $5.50, since BvB.
In a case such as CO open and you on Button, it would be $6.75 which is where I think this 3.5x initial raise idea comes from.
