Default Daniel N\'s blog.

"Posts likes these are really annoying and silly, lol. It's as though you "think" you know me better than I do! If you bet on old me vs new me I'd crush old me bad, real bad. That loss didn't affect ME, it affected my BR! Since that time I've only played three times in the "big game," but the game doesn't even go anymore as people are playing online now.

Since losing in the "big game" that one time I've won virtually all of it back in four sessions including a NL session at Bellagio. Plus I had a really good tournament run at the end of the year and beginning of the year. I've played less poker this year, but the reason for that has nothing to do with confidence or bankroll my dear boy, it has to do with being an experienced gambler and knowing when to take it easy"

This was in response to a post about his losing a large sum and not playing in the big game anymore, which is not news. But, what is strange to me is that he seems to be saying that the Big Game is not being played anymore. Is this correct?

You would think he would make quite a bit from pokerstars for those commercials he does.

Is this his way of saying not playing when you have no edge?

It's true, the Big Game rarely if ever goes off anymore.

Only time the game will really go these days is during the WSOP or a major Bellagio tourney (i.e. 5-Diamond coming up), or when they want to discuss some business, or when someone like Guy or Sammy comes to town. (And I'm guessing it's time for Sammy to come back to playing from his annual break now.)

They'd rather sit home and play online or make infinitely more $$$ in other ventures or, if they're gonna go to a casino, play craps as is usually the case with say, Phil Ivey, who's known to go to Red Rock or Venetian to get his craps on.

The "new Big Game" in town now is the 100/200+NL that's been going at the B pretty regularly the past 1-2 months, usually inhabited by Brandon Adams and/or Kenny Tran.

I've been there a few times in the last couple months, and there was either no game at all, or the 100/200 that you mention. It seemed like that game was not playing very big either, with no stacks much over $10k on the table.
