I made another awesome chop today.

$325 single table satellite.
1st pays $3000 in tournaments chips and some cash.

Blinds 300/600
Stacks:
Me: 3000
Old weak tight guy who's blind I shove into blind every time: 4500
Fat ugly chick: 7500.

They start discussing a chop. I get my cell phone out to quickly check my equity on the calculator function.

Without me saying anything, they offer a chop were we all get $500 in tourney chips and play it out for the rest.

Ship the even chop for me, the short stack!

Also, my new favourite thing in poker is pretending to look at my cards and shoving blind.

I used to be ashamed of my 10-way final table chop, now I do not have to be.

Yay! This is also one of my favorite things to do. It's amazing the emotions you can project when you're genuinely ignorant of how you're "supposed" to be acting.

After the chop I have the button at 300/600 blinds. I do my new pretend to look at the cards and shove trick and take down the blinds.

Stacks going into next hand are:
Button: 6900
Hero SB: 3900
BB: 4200

Folds to me. I pretend to look again and shove. BB calls. I say "I guess I'll look at my cards now". Ship it, I have JJ. BB flips QQ. GG me.

A calculator on ur phone? I'd think most phones have them now?

It's not an ICM calculator, but this was a winner take all tourney so you don't need ICM.

Maybe you guys can help me out with this chopping thing. What would have been a fair deal for me here, and how do I figure it out?

I had 20% of chips. I had an edge obv, but even not considering that, 20% of prizepool is $600.

So, this chop gave me $500 with the chance to win another like $1500 plus some cash ($150 maybe?). So, I have $300 equity in the remaining prize pool plus the guaranteed $500. So, the way I look at this, is the chop is giving me $800 when I really only have $600 in equity.

Is this a good way to analyse this?
