Default very small bets from passive players...

How does everyone react to these.

here is an example...

You are on the button and to 1.25 (in a 25 nl game)with king jack of hearts, folds around to late position limpre who calls. flop comes king Ace 5, rainbow. he bets out 25 cents into 2.50 ish...you raise to 1.50...he calls. every street thereafter he bets just .25.

things like this are also happening a ton to me when a have big draws. here im usually happy and take the odds and call...should i raise draws more often?

does anyone experience stuff like this?

will post a hand as it comes up tonight hopefully.

thanks for the help,
Matt

in my experience the minbet means they're either on a draw or they have middle/bottom pair.

you have to worry when these guys minraise you.

Medicore passive players do that when they are drawing and using minbet to block. They do that when they should be betting 2/3-pot or check. He's probably got JT and drawing to a gutshot. Usually raise to near-pot and they'll throw it away. If they don't then being passive means they probably have a monster so you play carefully.

I get this exact thing a lot especially on the flop. I nearly always raise pot or 3/4 pot and then get a fold 90+% of the time.
When they call I'm usually done with the hand, though with 2nd pair as here I'll call down the minbets. I've seen monsters, total bluffs, gutshot draws and bottom pair at showdown

I've seen some strange plays by people before but I see this type of betting everyday and almost every time it's a draw or a mid pair or something small. Passive players trying to see a cheap showdown.
And obviously just calling the min bets is a mistake.
