2004 was obviously different for a million reasons. This is still awesome, but we're not really sure how to react because the Red Sox have never done it when they were supposed to do it, like this year.

yeah, we were just not prepared to have the Red Sox go wire-to-wire as the best team in baseball this season. (Well, at least I wasn't; others on this board handled it better than me). As a Red Sox fan, I'm constantly waiting for the other shoe to drop. It's hard to act like you've been there before when you haven't. It just DOESN'T EVER go according to plan like it did this year. I guess these aren't my daddy's Red Sox...
