Interesting hand, 2/4
From one of my students I was sweating. Player is a 38/28, seems kind of badish, loosish. Other guy is a TAG, seems overly agro though. How does it look?

Re: Interesting hand, 2/4
i would not check the flop, because the first guy obviously doesn't have you beat unless its the nuts or close to it, and because the second guy can put you in some sticky situations since you say he's aggressive.
sticky situations as in, he'll stab this flop a lot and you really underrep your hand w/ the flop check, so it's going to be difficult to tell if he actually has a hand on this somewhat dangerous board or if he's bluffing you. also, if he bets the flop in position you really are forced to escalate the pot more than you'd like in order to protect your hand. or you could go for pot control and give him 2 cards for cheap. or you could just bet the flop and assume he won't get frisky unless he has you beat (a fair assumption imo). on boards like this people generally don't go frisky by default, so why give him rope to get frisky? only reason i can see to check is if it makes the other guy make a big mistake, but since he's loosish he'll probably still ck/ca you with like 8h8x or whatever as played its fine |
