Default Hand

6-handed 30. CO open limps. He could be playing absolutely anything. He likes to talk when he is on a draw and is quiet with a made hand. SB completes. He's wasted and has no clue. Will call with nothing and spew with nothing and is capable of wierd folds. I raise in the BB w QhJh, both call.

Flop is As 8d 3s. Check, I bet, CO raises. SB calls two cold saying "I got nothing". Right after that, CO says "well, you might pick something up on the turn." My action and/or plan?

11-1 and I still fold. Might be different if the board reads A93 with a heart.

Edit: Well, I didn't read the read, but I still fold. If your read is that solid, the best/cheapest bluff would probably be to see if SB folds the turn and simply donk the river non-spade river. Still, I fold the flop.

OTHER 2P2 POSTER: put at the end
IM TALKING TO ON AIM: ps. fold flop

If by the end of this thread you or anyone else convinces me that an immediate fold is not by far the only play I will have learned something.

Give the dealer both of your cards and keep your chips in your stack.

Remember when folding to say, "I can never with with these, an Ace on the flop every time!"

I think that general rule of thumb reads take a back seat to solid in-person reads. This guy without any doubt at all talked every time he had a draw and got dead silent poker face when he had a hand he thought could be best at the moment.

Now, that doesn't mean folding is wrong, but what's the point of making reads and having information if one doesn't use it. This is certainly a very tough spot, which is why I posted it.

I understand you have a read but the pot is still 3 ways and you can't expect that neither has anything, and will not make anything, and will not calldown whatever move you make at the pot with slightly better than anything.
