Red Rock
Is it worth the 12 minute cab fare to drive to Red Rock? What kinds of games do they spread there and what is the action like?
Also, I will be in Vegas 1/31 - 2/4, the weekend of the Super Bowl. Anyone been out during the Super Bowl and is there any changes in Vegas during this time? What i mean is will there be any particularly juicy card rooms or just more of the same? |

Re: Red Rock
Red Rock is still again just another casino with still again yet another poker room. There is nothing special or particularly fulfilling about it. If you live out there, it's a nice place to visit. It's not worth a long trip. And "12 minute cab fare"? MAYBE at 4am IFF the lights are perfectly green all the way and you ignore the speed limits; it's >10 miles from strip to RedRock Casino as the crow flies, I think. But the lights on Flamingo, Desert Inn, Sahara, whatever you take out to the west will drive you nuts. Actual travel time is likely in the 20-40 minute range.
Superbowl is wacky busy. Not sure the poker players are any stupider than normal, but game selection will be improved and there will be a somewhat greater overall tourist/grinder ratio. |

[/ QUOTE ] Rent a car for the day and make a drive through red rock canyon. All the dealers at Red Rock are great - keep the game going and are pleasant. Games aren't any different than what you can find on the strip |

[/ QUOTE ] The SuperBowl is the second busiest weekend of the year in Vegas (second only to New Years) so yes, every poker room will be packed. Good action found everywhere on the Strip. No reason to trek out to a locals casino when you can find juicier and better action on the Strip. |

Re: Red Rock
Red Rock is far out and the games are usally filled just with locals who play very tight. I can't speak much for the NL games though. However, the casino is nice and they have good restaurants.
