Heads-up STT: How to Kill Em Off
Hi,
This is my first time posting so please forgive If i make any mistakes. When I play STTs (Full Tilt, $20+2) I often get into the final 2 with a big chip lead but never know how to finish off my opponent. Today I had 8k vs Villain's 4k, twice I folded A2 and A5 to his allin push. Am I supposed to take risks i.e. call his all-in with any Ace or wait for the nuts and make sure he doesnt double up? Any general advice on finishing off opponents would be appreciated! R. |

[/ QUOTE ] Yeah since it's your first post...Read the FAQ and post specific hands, with a converter that provides stacks, blinds, position, etc...there's a guideline in there for what other info to include, including any reads, etc... In general though, you should be applying constant pressure with the chip lead heads up unless the blinds are unusually small for that situation (both players have 10+ BB's) |

The only mistake you can make HU is not pushing enough. In the circumstances you describe, I'm not folding a good Q much less an A.

You HAVE to be aggressive heads up, otherwise you'll never win. Force them to make the tough decisions.

Re: Heads-up STT: How to Kill Em Off
Once blinds get high start with the intention of shove every hand.
Only deviate from the plan if you can find a good reason. |
