You Euros have an unfair advantage in being able to start this thread like 6 hours earlier than us.

How Dboy got it last month is beyond me...

I hate poker so much. So I'm starting to tilt, this guy is running over me, raising big PF with anything, and because I have absolutely nothing, I gotta keep folding. He's been c/r me on flops and generally playing aggressively, so I decide to try to play a little tricky.

PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em Tourney, Big Blind is t50 (2 handed)

Hero (t1365)
Button (t1635)

Preflop: Hero is BB with A[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], A[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img].
Button raises to t200, Hero calls t150.

Obviously I should 3-bet here, but I figured he was raising w/ nothing and that he would just insta-fold. I also figured he would be any flop, so calling would be better. Also, when I start to go crazy from running horribly, I start to make stupid plays (mainly out of going insane from repeatedly having my opponents always fold and I hit a flop or check-raise or shove when I miss).

Flop: (t400) T[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], 7[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], 2[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (2 players)

alright so this is an okay flop, I'll just check and when he c-bets, I'll c/r and I'll pick up a decent pot.

Hero checks, Button checks.

Turn: (t400) 4[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (2 players)

WTF? He checked behind? Alright, he's gonna fold to any bet, so why don't I play tricky. I'll bet small and he'll think I'm stabbing at the pot and he'll raise me big and continue crapping on me like he's been doing for the past 15 hands.

Hero bets t50, Button calls t50.

He called?! Now I concoct a brilliant plan...

River: (t500) K[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (2 players)

I'll c/r him!

Hero checks, Button bets t250, Hero raises to t500

Perfection. I've finally made this LAG pay.

Button raises to t1200

F%&$ F*$% F!@$ I know I'm beat. I'm certain I'm beat, but I just can't do it. It's amazing how badly I managed to play this hand on every street. This is why I'll never make it past the 11s.

Hero calls t615 (All-In).

Villain turns over Ac9c.

Final Pot: t2730

Somekid, you have to bet a ton more on the turn. Flat calling OOP with AA is fine, but you can't do that and slowplay is postflop without super super reads and the ability to lay the hand down when you're beat.

I'd lead for at least 300 on the turn. The only decent hand he can have is probably a set imo (very small chance), otherwise I'd be surprised if he was as strong as 2nd pair.

I just filtered my over all cash play on FT, after about 40k hands, I am losing 6bbs/100.

Edit to add this question:

Does anyone in the world play that bad? I thought that would be unsustainable.

Why do I bother trying to move up to $50s and $100s? I've played about 80 $30s in the past few days, and here are my stats for the past month (a little light for November because there are almost 2 weeks worth where I didn't play at all online):

2 player $30: 62.04% (67/108) ROI: 18.17% Total profit: $618.00
2 player $50: 55.41% (123/222) ROI: 5.53% Total profit: $645.00
2 player $80: 0.00% (/1) ROI: -100.00% Total profit: $-84.00
2 player $100: 30.00% (3/10) ROI: -42.86% Total profit: $-450.00

All games: 56.60% (193/341) ROI: 4.50 Profit: 729

I made just as much money in half as many games playing $30s. And obviously I'm not improving by leaps and bounds, because after 6k+ games total, I can still only pull 5% ROI at $50s over a decent sample.

Sad.

Guess it's time to try to pony up for another coaching session, even though my bankroll is a little short for it.
