Default Commitment decision with AA

I have just completed reading PNLHE, and have dropped back down to $25NL to try out a new way of thinking about the game as a result of reading the book.

I'm trying to think about commitment decisions earlier in each hand.

I'd welcome opinions on any street, but especially the turn.

Villain is brand new to the table, so no reads on them.

Party Poker, $0.10/$0.25 NL Hold'em Cash Game, 6 Players
LegoPoker Hand History Converter

Hero (SB): $21.36
BB: $17.45
UTG: $18.11
MP: $24.65
CO: $10.61
BTN: $3.85

Pre-Flop: A[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] A[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] dealt to Hero (SB)
UTG calls $0.25, 3 folds, Hero raises to $1.50, BB folds, UTG calls $1.25

Flop: ($3.25) 2[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] J[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] 6[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (2 Players)
Hero bets $2.75, UTG calls $2.75

Turn: ($8.75) 5[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (2 Players)

Pre-flop I raised 1BB more than I would have done previously as I wanted to try to lower the SPR.

The early limper called, and so I achieved an SPR of approx. 5.5. A good SPR for my likely hand of an overpair on the flop.

First question - given the rag flop, against an unknown (as I was), am I at this stage committed for my stack unless some major new piece of info comes along during the hand ?

On the turn, I considered the possibility of my opponent having me beat. An early position limp, followed by a call pre-flop and on the flop, might suggest a pocket pair which had made trips.

So I then checked the turn trying to keep the pot smaller.

(Actually, looking at this reasoning in black and white, I think this is probably ridiculous !!!)

Second question - I know this is weak, should I just be betting again on the turn ? Any reason not to ?

Muz.

UTG has how much left? 14 dollars approx. In a pot worth 8.75 so he isn't pot committed yet.

The question is are you ok with your hand to commit $14 dollars more?

If you have 62.5% equity here then getting him all in is the best choice.

With no reads and assumming he has 15% holdings here that would call a raise for 4 bb that he already limped in is a pretty tight but fair guess.

I feel pretty sure I can play this hand for 14 dollars more.

So what size bet do you want to put down.

6 bucks seems about right, with a bet of the rest on the river if there is no spade and no pair.

Limit-->nl forum seems quite ok, why not?

On the hand. Your opponent does not have 43 or a set, just keep building the pot.
