Default AK in position, line check please...

UTG has been trappy. Waiting until the turn to raise flopped sets and two pairs, even on drawy boards.

MP1 plays 6 max primarily, he linmps or cold calls with suiyed conectors and suited gappers, is generally passive.

Other players are unknowns.

On the flop, 4 is too many to C bet against ? I think the rule of thumb is to C bet 3 or less ?

That's too drawy a board to c-bet + you've got company in numbers. You will not win the pot here. You will not in all likehood clear any outs. Your outs can be dirty (reverse domination must be a worry here).

The pot is biggish but you probably don't have the best hand and chances are a bet here wouldn't win you much equity. Any pair on that board probably has a GS to help.

I'd probably take the free card vs. two villains in this kind of a spot quite often.

WP, nice hand.

It really is an easy check. You will most certainly be against a least a pair or a gutshotdraw which all have odds to call. So it'll be a clear mistake to sweeten the pot when you actually will be behind most of the time.

The hand is well played.

Against two players I mostly continuebet. Both just have to fold 1/15 which mostly equals that combined they should fold each 1/4 of the time. Or said another way. Each should call 75% of the time to make a contbet unprofitable against two. But against 3 the combined probabilities are just too low.

What about betting to narrow the field and take a free turn card?

The pot is so big that if villains are faced with one SB they are right to call with a pocket pair and BDSD.

You probably won't narrow the field with a bet significantly, and you could easily be betting into a trap (note: trapping would be pretty stupid here with this board and this many to the flop and no quaranteed c-bet).

Dude, why did you post the hand? It's perfect. You can't cbet into a J9x board against this many opponents and it was impossible for you to screw up the big streets. NH

The subject does say "Line Check", and I think it's just that. NH.

Narrowing the field here will be almost impossible. In a pot this big, everyone is going to peel and, at least against your hand, is right to do. Given that it's almost impossible for you to be currently winning, I just don't think betting here is the right way to go.
