To be honest, I don't think a bet on the flop does anything here. Anything that beats you on the flop will call a bet from you. JJ-KK will call at least one bet, not believing you have an A, and any ace is going nowhere.
I think the way it was played is fine. |

The only time I check the flop when I am pretty sure my hand is best is if:
1. My hand is really not that vulnerable at all, or 2. Villain is a [censored] maniac who is going to do my value betting for me I think we have the best hand on the flop here, so I want to bet it and take it down. I'd love to here why I'm wrong, though. |

I´m quite sure you´re getting yourself trapped on that turn call. What do you beat at this point? Did he reraise you with KQ or pocket 9's? Not very often i tell you. I'd lay thit down on the turn really.
That check on the flop also indicate real strength to me. Any weird holdings would c-bet that flop. |
