Default New Look Problems

Hi Everyone:

Some of you, including me, are seeing a jumbled mess when you go to the forums. We did expect some unsettlement and are working on the problem. If we can't fix it quickly we'll back out of the changes until we can find a solution.

Best wishes,
Mason

I think someone messed up with the format and selected wood panelling when what they actually wanted was what they had before. Please reverse if possible!

Hi Mason,
Also, somebody mistakenly put in drop down menus on the left.

Best,
Zod

Hi Mason,

It was originally jumbled but now displays fine in both Internet Explorer 7 beta and Firefox.

The real issue is that the central part of the page doesn't scale to your screen, causing narrow posts and large areas of whitespace on both sides. I image this would be easy to fix when everything gets settled.

Apart from that, which is most people's gripe, it definitely looks better. The wood panelling needs to be toned down a bit though.

This is what mine looks like in Firefox when the messages are too wide. The side panels cover the messages up.

It should also not be possible to have messages that are too wide. That's the real problem.

It would be SO AWESOME if the new system did NOT ALLOW extra wide photos to be placed inside anyone's post.

Every other page is practically unreadable because you have to scroll horizontally to read every single line just because some monkey decided to add a giant picture from "Bloodsport" to his witty post.

mine looks perfectly fine actually.

I just dislike the drop-drown menus.

All - it looks like 2+2 will be reverting back in the morning until this stuff can get worked out.

Right now very normal sized pictures break it.

Wasn't this always somewhat of a problem?

Perhaps image size width should be limited to the same default width as a normal line of text. Any larger image simply won't be displayed. I'm not good with images and graphics but I'm fairly sure most images can be cropped or scaled down if it has to be posted.
