Re: Bonds won\'t return to Giants
[ QUOTE ]
The A's won't likely pick up Bonds. They generally draft good players and develop them for 5 years, then see them leave to ridiculous amounts of monies. ex. Giambi, McGuire The book "Moneyball" explains all of this. Its extremely interesting as it explains how a team like Oakland with the second lowest payroll in the MLB can compete every year. [/ QUOTE ] Sorry, babe. Sounds like these illiterate gambling degenerates actually read the "Moneyball" CliffsNotes or at least heard about it on ESPN... |

Re: Bonds won\'t return to Giants
[ QUOTE ]
How much will he cost? I'll start the guessing at $20M for 2 years. [/ QUOTE ] Well he made 22 million in 2005, 20 million in 2006, and 15.8 million in 2007. So im guessing roughly 12 million. |

Re: Bonds won\'t return to Giants
Does this Moneyball book say anything about Oakland catcher Jeremy Brown? What about their first baseman/outfielder Nick Swisher?

Re: Bonds won\'t return to Giants
It most definitely speaks of Nick Swisher being one of the first players in a long time that everyone else wanted, and that the A's actually went after.
Because of his attitude and ability. As you know he can play every position and they loved that. |

The book's a fraud, it doesn't even mention the heart and soul of the team, MR JACK CUST!

Re: Bonds won\'t return to Giants
If you are a fan of Billy Beane, wisehand.. This book has some great stories about his playing days and how he got a job in MLB.

Re: Bonds won\'t return to Giants
What year did Billy Beane right the book? Why would he write this book? Of course, I don't mind, because he made it seem like steals were bad and didn't like bunting and all of the smart teams no better. "Hey Billy, for your next book why don't you title it 'This doesn't work in the playoffs'".
