Re: kendall to the cubs, lol
[ QUOTE ]
I'm pretty sure Beane is forced to second or third level these guys at this point. They offer him a player to be named, he names some random douchebag he doesn't want, they go "HA! Tricked you, you can't have him, you get this (superstud, hidden gem, huge upside) guy instead, sucker!" [/ QUOTE ] Beane has traded lots of good young players to other teams. Just a few off the top of my head, Andre Ethier, Ramon Hernandez, Aaron Harang, Jeremy Bonderman. One could also argue that the Tim Hudson trade was a bust. Although the Mulder for Haren and Calero was definitely a huge win for Billy. My point is that, while Beane is a great GM, he isn't ripping off people left and right with his trades. |

Re: kendall to the cubs, lol
beane's forced to make more 60/40 trades that are in his advantage but yet still have a higher probability of flopping than his usual 80/20 trades. gms have gotten more wary. but overall beane rapes gms in his sleep. the only trade that looks really hard to defend is the hudson for meyer trade, because even at the time they should've got more than meyer for that, though meyer was a good prospect.
