Batting Mike Redmond third whenever Mauer has a day off?

Keeping Sidney Ponson in the rotation?

This has always bothered me.

Gardenhire doesn't change his lineup order, only the players in his lineup.

Didn't BP mostly prove that lineup order isn't that big a deal? I mean it might be illogical, but would it really qualify as an "awful" decision?

don't forget pretty much everything regarding the playing time of Pat Burrell...like, you know, the pinch running in the 6th inning

depends. if it's mauer/redmond swap then it will likely not effect much. it just shows a fundamental lack of brains that surely must carry over into other avenues of the game. Another credit to Gardenhire would be mysteriously using Mauer as a C at a higher rate this year after his injury concerns have only increased over the last year.

Actually the twins have to be a huge frontrunner for the ratio between best front office/stupidest manager, with plenty of viable(or good!) pitchers in the minors while trotting out Ponson and Ortiz for 40% of the starts. Gardenhire's bizarre lineup/platoon ideas, etc. Not that Gardenhire is the worst, he just stands in glaring contrast to Ryan and co. up top.
