Re: 2/4 blind steal with some odd results
In my opinion, you should have mucked this preflop. T9s can be okay to steal with against the right blinds, but this is more an isolation play against the C/O. I don't think T9s does well enough HU to make this play. This is especially true if the complete fish you're playing will call down with king high or worse.
I believe I'd raise the turn though and review things from there. |

the LPP was 54/0 and .32. maybe its my arrogance of assuming i can outplay him postflop. but if he hadnt limped, you wouldnt try a steal against unknow blinds?

Re: 2/4 blind steal with some odd results
Preflop: As Allday already pointed out, this is an isolation play, not a steal. Against a really terrible opponent with a super wide limping range, this might be a good play, but otherwise I wait for better multi-way situations to play T9s.
Flop: You did exactly what you were supposed to, flop a straight. Good work. Turn: Raise/call, Call river. If he just calls, bet if checked to you unless its a fourth club maybe. If its a fourth club and you get c/r, I might fold. Chances are he has a K, 2 pair, but I'm not giving him enough credit yet for a flush to fold. |

I don't think it's an terrible move, but I probably wouldn't do it against the two complete unknowns. The better you are postflop, the better this play is though. The general 'feel' of the table might sway my decision here. Like I said, I think it's very close. |

[/ QUOTE ] Without the limper, easy steal against most blinds. Even if you get called, your hand still has some good value, though it probably has to improve. |

Re: 2/4 blind steal with some odd results
Preflop looks fine to me. I'd raise the turn and call down a 3-bet. I'm not about to slow down with a straight just because the BB donked again.

Re: 2/4 blind steal with some odd results
IMO the question is not whether or not to raise the turn, but whether or not to call a 3bet when we do raise. i like the rest.
