I fold the nuts preflop
Go on, tell me this is horribly weak..
UTG is a pretty tough aggro 2p2'er (24/19/3). CO is more TAG, 18/14/2. CO and myself have no history at all, but UTG and I have been 3-betting each other fairly light, though nothing crazy, and i have shown down a couple of bluffs recently vs him. I decided to mix it up and flat call here, standard would be to 3-bet. In hindsight, that was a pretty big mistake cos UTG must have been getting tired of my 3-betting and ready to play back. If it was me who had 3-bet here, it would be a no brainer push, but i was a little worried about the CO so decided to fold. Thoughts? Party $2/$4 6-max. Cut-off ( $ 572.30 USD ) UTG ( $ 415.90 USD ) Hero ( $ 520 USD ) Dealt to Hero: Ac-Kc UTG raises to $14 Hero calls CO raises to $60 3 folds mlpzaq raises to $144 Hero folds |

Re: I fold the nuts preflop
Really depends on the dynamics of the game. UTG has KK/AA a decent amount of time and you only have 14 in the pot. Does the cutoff squeeze/3bet light?

Re: I fold the nuts preflop
It's extremely unlikely that you have the best hand here (they BOTH have AQ?!) so really the best you can hope for is to get it in as a coinflip with a bit of dead money in the pot. But that thin value doesn't make up for how much you lose when you get it in vs AA or KK. You also probably don't have great folding equity here because your move looks like exactly what it really is - a good hand but not a big pair.
