Re: Budo: The Art of Killing
I guess no one saw the documentary, but they have been showing it a lot over the last week, I suggest anyone interested in martial arts checks itout.

It is a documentary, I guess. Heard about more often than it was actually seen (at least outside of martial arts circles), Budo - The Art Of Killing is a serious look at Japanese martial arts practices filmed entirely on location in the land of the rising sun - tag from that site it shows the real training behind sumo, Karate, Judo, Aikido, samarui etc. I dont claim to know ANYTHING about martial arts, but I ran across it the other night while flipping through the channels, and the scenery, etc was just awesome. |

Re: Budo: The Art of Killing
Sounds interesting. Too bad I don't have Showtime.
I wonder why they used the term budo instead of bujutsu. Bu means "war" and do means "the way" or "path" while jutsu means "the art". I see in another review that Gozo Shioda's Yoshinkan style of Aikido is in the film. I'd definitely like to see that. |
