1/2 FR - BB Flops Trips
It's a UB Hand History, so I'm converting manually. Sorry for any mistakes.
SB posts the small blind of $.50. Hero posts the big blind of $1 with (9:clubs: 4:hearts Pre-flop: 3 Folds MP calls. 2 Folds Button calls. SB calls. Hero checks. Flop (board: 4[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] 4[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] A[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]): SB checks Hero bets $1 MP calls Button folds. SB raises to $2. Hero re-raises to $3. MP re-raises to $4. SB calls. Hero calls. Turn (board: 4[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] 4[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] A[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] q[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]): SB checks. Hero bets $2. MP raises to $4. SB calls. Hero calls. River (board: 4[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] 4[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] A[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] q[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] Q[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]): SB checks. Re: 1/2 FR - BB Flops Trips
Reads?
In the absence of reads, SB could be trying to isolate with an A or buy free cards for a draw on the flop. MP coming from 2 down to cap screams TRAP to me. At best you're against another 4 (like 45 suited, maybe?), at worst he limped AA. Is A4 in MPs open-limp range? Why donk the turn bet following that raise? On the river I think you have to call unless you have a read that MP would limp a big pair. You beat a flush and tie most 4s. A4, AQ, QQ and AA sink you. Again, without reads, I think you have to discount him having a big pair. I think you are usually ahead of SB here. MP I'm not so sure. Can you PM me the results? Re: 1/2 FR - BB Flops Trips
I think the flop bet/3bet is good, but I would check/call the turn. You're splitting with most 4's anyway, and it's pretty unlikely that MP would call/cap the flop with an ace after you bet/3bet on a paired board. He might also have an FD, but I think you're in bad shape more often than you're ahead. River is an easy call.

Re: 1/2 FR - BB Flops Trips
c/c turn sucks. mp's most likely holding is a flush draw.
OP, i think this is fine. |

Re: 1/2 FR - BB Flops Trips
I also think that you played it fine because there is a good enough chance that they are both on FDs.
MP could be capping the flop because he might be able to get a free card on the turn if he is drawing to a flush. Even the nut FD doesn't have the equity to cap for value on this paired board with two opponents betting and raising. He has to realize that one or both must have a four. It would be very seldom that 3 players are on the same FD with suited hands. When MP raises the non trump turn it is time to call down. |

like what? bet/fold seems absurd to me, but I like it alot better than bet/call.

Re: 1/2 FR - BB Flops Trips
I like flop and turn, I think I raise the river. It's unlikely that anyone holds a Q after the flop action. I think you're splitting with MP1 (what 4's can he play, 54s?) and SB pays off with his flush (or his A that he can't fold).
Edit: Well, A4 is a possible holding for MP1, but that's pretty unlikely. |

Re: 1/2 FR - BB Flops Trips
Awesome, thanks for the comments everyone.
MP1 ended up having slowplayed AA, and SB had the flush. Just seeing if I should have even taken that into consideration, especially after the limp/cap on the flop. But now there's one more donk who thinks that slowplaying aces works, which I guess is a good thing. |
