How long do I have to grind for a iPod??
On PokerStars it costs 17,000 FPP.
Roughly, how long will this take me if I'm playing only NL$25 with a few $5 - $10 tourneys sprinkled in there. Thanks! |

Forever. Convert your FPPs to T$ in the 70 fpp sats, then sell the T$ and use the $ to buy your own damn ipod without the OneCall markup.

Re: How long do I have to grind for a iPod??
disclaimer - no idea of how good the ipod FPP value is or isn't in the Stars store.
Step 1. Play for an hour on however many tables you normally play and see how many points you earn. Then multiply it out. At some point you will be at silver VIP status which is 1.5x FPP earn-rate. On NL25 6-max at about .13VPP/hd perhaps and 100-120 hds/hr I'm going to guess 15 VPP per table-hour. So 4-tabling is 60 VPP/hour or 90FPP's/hr if you're already silver-status. Crank it up to 5 tables for 100+ FPP's an hour and you can make it to your 17k FPP's in less than 170 hours. Awesome!! And don't forget that at 4k VPP's for the month your VIP status increases to gold so you are earning FPP's at 2x instead of 1.5x. The occasional tourney won't make much of a difference. $5 tourney earns 3 VPP's. $10 tourney earns 5 VPP's. |

Microbob,
I want an Aston Martin. I 3 table $1.20 SNGS and steal blinds occasionally at 25NL. How long do I have to grind. (I'm bronze star now). |

Re: How long do I have to grind for a iPod??
Note that new models of iPod might be released next week sometime. There are rumours of that substantiated by low stock of existing ones and also it's almost been a year since a new one came out. That makes buying one with cash an even better idea.

Re: How long do I have to grind for a iPod??
For NL$25 you would need to play the following:
Bronze --- 117,000 Hands Silver --- 78,000 Hands Gold ----- 58,000 Hands Platinum - 47,000 Hands These numbers assume that you don't escalate in VIP levels. As you cross each level, the number of remaining hands needed will diminish because of the increasing FPP factor. Also, they are approximations based on the average FPP accruals for the hands I have played at the limit. The FPP accrual for NL$25 was 0.146 VPPs per hand played. edit to add: these are for full ring play. I think short handed would be about 15% less. |

Re: How long do I have to grind for a iPod??
Thanks for the replies guys.
Trying to decide my best method to get a Nano. Either: PokerStars: 17,000 FPP Cake: 830 Gold Chips - I currently have around 40 chips and could just pay 5 chip donkaments. PSO: Costs about 30,000 points. |

Re: How long do I have to grind for a iPod??
Dude, just winning two of the satellites to the Sunday Million that award 4 seats and selling the T$ will give you enough money to buy the 80GB model and have money leftover. I won three on Sunday afternoon and I suck at SNGs.
