Default Gus Hansen working on a book

On the pokerwire podcast that Gus was on, he mentioned that he was about half way done on a book about his experience at the Aussie Millions tournament. I was surprised that he considered that to be enough material to write a book on. Are there any other examples of pros writing books on their experiences in a single tourney, and how did that book turn out?

yeah, moneymaker did a book on playing in just one tourney. worked out o.k.... in all seriousness, i'd read that gus was taping hands in earlier tournaments and he could have alot of poker thought in his book.. james mcmanus book is mostly tied into one tournament. can't remember details (i.e. whether that was his intention or not)

Hi red:

We received a proposal for this book but told the agent that we would need to see a completed manuscript before we could make a decision. That was a couple of weeks ago and so far we have gotten no response.

Best wishes,
Mason

He better finish the project with Magriel. If that book would be half as good as "Backgammon", we would have a winner.

Hey,

Gus recorded all his hands from the Aussie Millions tournament on his little tape recorder. The book is going to contain all hands played during the Aussie Millions tournament including comments and analyses. The book will be published in late spring 2008.

All the best

Gus's manager? Is that like an agent?

So he was discussing all his hands into the tape recorder right there at the table, right in front of his opponents?

Is he going to submit the manuscript to Mason?

It sure is - handling all of Gus' business ventures. He also has a personal assistant.

jep - he got up and recorded all of them in Danish and we have now finished almost all of the hands - it is going to be great and completely unique.
Is he going to submit the manuscript to Mason? Two+two wanted a complete manuscript before deciding so we went with another publishing house - which one will be revealed very soon.

Sorry for the slight hijack, but is "Backgammon" worth reading if you're a total complete utter newbie novice wannabe?
