Who really makes $$ anymore?

I would really appreciate the most honest feedback possible.

Are that many people really making a substantial profit in online poker anymore? I know of a handful of online players who have the ability to support themselves and their families solely by logging onto their computer, but the numbers have decreased dramatically in the last 2 years or so.

It seems to me that a lot of players aren't truly honest with themselves and others when asked how much money they're realistically making/losing online. As for me, I was making money and cashing out around $300 or so every few months just as a little income supplementation as a college student. The past 2 years, however, it seems the weak players have either wised up or took a hike.

I would like some honest feedback as to some people's opinions on this. It would be refreshing to hear from both losing and winning players who can be truly honest about their experiences/thoughts. Thanks.

If you arent making money anymore, its because the games have gotten harder and you havent gotten any better. Move down in limits, or get better. Its possible that the games are so tough at the small limits that the rake cant be overcome. But I seriously doubt that because the people at the those limits are terrible at poker.

So basically, if you want to win, you need to get better. All the money in poker is made from mistakes. You get the money when they make them, and you give it away when you make them. Play in a game where you make less mistakes than your opponents and you'll win money. Its pretty much that easy.

I would also appreciate posts from people who have hit puberty and gained a little maturity. I know it's wierd reading a post from someone who openly admits they are losing at online poker, but if you're going to post stuff like that please refrain or I'll sleep with your mom.

Maybe you should read the latest monthly graph threads. Plenty of people are winning, I'm making more money than I ever have. It sounds like your game has barely developed in the last two years, which is sad considering that over that time people have built 100k rolls from nothing with only hard work. It doesn't sound like you were much of a winner in the first place - I think that you've always been one of the "fish" you're talking about, but the games were just so bad then that you still managed to scrape by with a profit. The fish still exist, only this time around they're people like you.
