NL 25 Calling reraises preflop
HAND 1)
Stakes 0.1/0.25 Effective stacks $25 Hero has 88 Hero raises to 0.75 in CO. BB reraises to 2.50 Hero?? BB seems a decent player. HAND 2) same stakes All have at least $24 UTG+1 calls, hero raises to 1.25 BB reraises to 4 UTG+1 calls hero?? UTG+1 is a fish with vol$ put in pot about 60, other player seems decent. By my calculations I need to make $9.90 more if I call and hit a set to breakeven on the call. (set hits 1 in 8, I think) |

Re: NL 25 Calling reraises preflop
I fold both these hands to the reraise.. However I feel much more inclined to call the 2nd hand. This could be a mistake of mine and I'm interested to see what other posters would do here as well.

Re: NL 25 Calling reraises preflop
In hand 1, I at least had position so maybe if I knew he definitely did this with AK OOP then if he continuation bet a low flop and I called then maybe he would shut down. But he would obviously still do this with QQ+ and may well include TT+ too.
In hand 2, one slight thing to add is that obviously I need to win slightly more than $9.90 to make up for the few times that I lose to set over set or a flush when they hit with AK suited, but those are rare so I think the difference wouldn't be much. People find it very difficult to fold even when they think they might be up against a set, so I think against 2 players it is likely I would make a profit on the play. |
