Re: Hand from deep in the ub 200k
meh i think it is a fold. I think he can narrow your hand range down pretty well and is expecting to get called imo.

Re: Hand from deep in the ub 200k
I think calling here is not nearly as good as shoving. He only has 60k behind and there's 15k in the pot. You have jacks. I rewager.

[/ QUOTE ] i dont really agree that this is true, why do we need a big hand to call here preflop, with position and a larger stack deep in a big tourney? i think, while our range isnt huge, it definitely includes hands that just insta-fold to his flop cram, which may have tried to make a play if he bets like 13k or whatever. |

Re: Hand from deep in the ub 200k
tbh i dont think we can call preflop with out a pretty damn strong hand. We are sandwiched between an EP raise an and utg limp from a shortstack and we just CC about 1/8th of the eff stacks with the other big stack at our table. that seems pretty damn strong to me.

I like the line and I snap call postflop. You are never behind to his wager.

Re: Hand from deep in the ub 200k
Pre, I think 3bet/call > fold > call. I just don't think calling can be +cEV here, you're folding 52% of flops (overcards assuming 2 are out), you're going broke or at least losing more chips on flops where you flop an overpair and Villain has a bigger one, you're winning a c-bet when you flop an overpair and Villain has overcards, 12% of the time you'll flop a set.
Postflop, the hands that make the most sense are AKhh and AQhh, which makes you a 55-45 dog but you're getting pot odds to call. Your flat call with UTG limper yet to act looks strong, Villain doesn't care, which could make it a set or a higher pair as well. While it's an overbet, any bet pot commits Villain anyway. Coming from a good player, this could easily be a value shove disguised as a bluff. I'd fold. |
